The Children’s Center is a Wayne County based non-profit organization dedicated to protecting vulnerable children. Their mission is to help children and families shape their own futures by providing comprehensive services for children and youth (ages birth to 22 years) facing behavioral and emotional challenges, developmental disabilities, trauma, abuse of all kinds, and neglect; as well as those needing foster care and adoption services.
85th Anniversary Logo
The original engagement with The Children’s Center was for an 85th anniversary commemorative logo. I worked with the marketing department, delivered concepts, refined them, and together we designed an 85th anniversary logo that worked for their community.
Flyers and Characters
The Children’s Center has a full slate of activities lined up for the children every year, and they are always thinking of more. They needed new templated flyers, all branded, with many options for the in-house staff to choose from and update as needed. And these flyers were meant to grab kids’ attention, so that they would take the flyers home to their parents and caregivers. In addition to the flyer backgrounds, we created a custom clip art library, with images of diverse kids demonstrating every activity The Children’s Center has to offer. Holiday themes, back-to-school fairs, book swaps, coat drives, healthy eating classes, every sport, and so on. There are well over 100 unique illustrations in that collection, along with dozens of background options.
Invitations, Posters and more
The people at The Children’s Center are always thinking of new ways to bring value to the kids in the community. I collaborated with the marketing team on customized campaigns, invitations, posters, program guides for events, many more logos, infographics, social media graphics, brochures and more.
Animations
RCi assisted The Children’s Center on a number of animated videos for social media, including these 2 fully animated spots for their Stop the Stigma campaign. In addition to video we produced stickers, books, pens, and other branded material for the successful fundraising campaign.
Draw Yourself a Superhero Campaign
I drew many new characters for TCC programs over the years, but the Draw Yourself a Superhero campaign might have been my favorite. These images were used on social media to get parents and kids to participate in a superhero themed art contest, where the winner gets a t-shirt with their artwork on the front. All culminating in a superhero themed event for the kids.
Our task was to represent a diverse group of kids combined with icon superheroes, but with a Children’s center twist. The results were a hit and drew in lots of kids to participate.
